7 Newborn Essential Every Parent Must Get

Everybody knows by now that there are some essential baby gears that parents must get even before their baby comes out.

Well today, I am going to be talking about some of those essential things. Here is a clue: baby clothes.

So, without further ado, here are the essentials:

1. Diapers

Diapers are definitely one of the most essential things that you can buy for your baby. They can get really messy and you can be changing their diapers as much as 10 times a day (or more, depending on your baby).

That being said, there are two types of diapers. The things that you see in the grocery store are the disposable diapers and are ideal if you want more convenience. The problem is that since you will be needing a lot of it, it can get really expensive- really fast.

If you do not mind washing their diapers, I suggest that you get a cloth diaper instead. The only downside is that since you will only be using a safety pin to create a diaper-like look, it can be quite hard to achieve a diaper-like appearance.

2. Crib

A crib is definitely something that you should consider buying brand new. You want it to be safe your baby to sleep on. You can get a bassinet cradle if you want.

Most baby cribs do not come with a mattress, so you also want to save some money to buy a fire-retardant mattress as well.

3. Clothing

You want to protect your baby from the cold and the elements, that is why you need to buy baby clothes- and lots of them.
You can buy some onesies, infant gowns, swaddle blankets, booties or socks, sweater and cap, and some sleepers.

As to how many you’re going to buy, it is up to you, but I suggest that you get at least 4 pieces of each (if you can afford it).

4. Baby Bathtub

There are plenty of different kinds of baby bathtubs, but for a newborn, you can get one with a sponge insert or those that are sloped with a foam pad on the inside.

Furthermore, you want to buy a shampoo that is right for your baby, as well as washcloths, and a comb.

5. Car Seat

For newborns, you are required to install a rear-facing car seat. The good thing is that they are easily detachable, allowing you to use it as a baby carrier if you and your baby are not in the car.

6. Essential Feeding Gear

Whether you are breastfeeding your baby or you’re feeding them with some solid foods, it is a good thing to have if you buy some baby bibs.
Your baby’s pediatrician may have also advised you that breastmilk is still best for your babies until two years, which is why I encourage you to buy a breast pump for convenience.

7. Medicine Cabinet

From time to time, your baby might experience slight fevers, colds, and other illnesses that are common in babies.

Ask your baby’s pediatrician about possible measures and medicines that you can store in case your baby gets sick.
